I couldn’t resist writing about this timeless game. I can’t call myself a gamer, but I get back to Ignition from time to time. I used to play it when I was in primary school, in secondary school and even now I play it sometimes.

Ignition is extremely sweet :-D Nine small, colourful vehicles and seven fabulous tracks - guarantees excellent entertainment for many evenings. In addition to that, you can also play multiplayer mode [including splitscreen - two players on one screen]. Cars are very easy to drive, it’s definitely an arcade game. Thanks to dgVoodoo, Ignition looks quite good, although it was released over 10 years ago.

Ignition is currently Abandonware, so you can find it on many websites. But, if you want to fully enjoy this game, you have to run it in high resolution and without ugly pixels. That’s why I wrote this little tutorial :-)

What will you need?
• Ignition
• 3Dfx Patch
• dgVoodoo

How to run the game?
1) Download and unzip Ignition.zip
2) Download Ign3Dfx.zip and unzip it to Ignition directory
3) Download dgVoodoo and unzip it to Ignition directory
4) Run dgVoodooSetup.exe for configuration, not necessary but recommended
5) To play the game run Ign_3dfx.exe

In the morning Mario came to my mind, and during breaks from learning, I made something like that. I used ideas and colors from different Mario versions, but it’s drawn from scratch. This is my tribute to this timeless game ;-)

When I first saw the screenshots I was in shock ;-) My old, beloved DooM II [and DooM I], but completely new. Beautiful textures, 3D models, light, new sounds and music! Maybe it’s not the latest production and it’s graphics can’t compete with new games, but it’s DooM II! I spend many terrifying evenings with this game, when I was in primary school, I even bought my first speakers to play it! :-D

It’s almost like a new game, you can explore DooM all over again. Still, despite many modifications, the atmosphere of the game is well preserved [or maybe it’s my fondness]. Maps, weapons and monsters are the same as in original DooM, but they look much better. I definitely recommend this game, it is really worth downloading. You can take a look at the screenshot gallery below. Oh, installation file weights about 600MB ;-)

GeForce 3
512MB RAM
• To run full version, you will also need WAD files from original DooM.

Pewien kolega ostatnio zaznajomił mnie z Plemionami. Gra w stylu Ogame, jednak moim zdaniem znacznie ciekawsza i bardziej przyjemna, chociażby dlatego, że mamy podgląd swojej “wioski”. Wygląda to mniej więcej tak:

_{Na tym screenie poninąłem resztę ekranu, na której jest menu gry. Troszkę też zmniejszyłem ;-)}

Budowanie jednostek i budnyków odbywa się podobnie jak w Ogame, ale mimo to, spojrzenie z góry na swoje osiągnięcia wiele wnosi do tematu. Na dodatek bardzo przyjemne średniowieczne klimaty, no i mamy prawie “Knights & Merchants” :-P Gram już jakieś dwa tygodnie i jeszcze mi się nie znudziło, dlatego spokojnie mogę powiedzieć, że Polecam :-)

Bonusik na dziś to ikonka RSS w formacie *.png, do umieszczenia w odpowiednim miejscu na stronie. Może ktoś skorzysta :-)
